John Matland weighs in on the topic of Roe v Wade with a unique position
STATEN ISLAND, New York, May 3, 2022 – Roe v Wade has long been a topic of great debate. I personally am pro life, but that’s my choice to have, not to dictate to others. I personally think abortion regulations should exist. For example if someone chooses to have an abortion it should be done early on in the pregnancy. I believe the federal government should not fund anything abortion related.
This ruling does not out law abortion, nor do I believe it should be outlawed, it just gives power to the state and its citizens to determine its position. I am firm on the federal government not having power to decide things pertaining to bodily autonomy. Taxpayers shouldn’t shoulder the financial burden of abortions - this responsibility is that of the parties involved. This step would remove those against abortions from taking part in funding it. The state should offer assistance in the event of rape.
We may not all agree on this topic but a bipartisan approach would hold people accountable for their choice to have an abortion and not financially involve those that are against it.
